Introducing HUM’s Driver-to-Driver Referral Program

One of the most consistent ways drivers discover HUM is through other drivers.

Not ads.
Not billboards.
Not promises that sound too good to be true.

Conversations at airport lots, gas stations, curbside pickups, and coffee shops. Drivers explaining how they’re already running private trips legally, keeping more of what they earn, and building something that actually feels sustainable.

We decided to formalize that.

Today, we’re officially announcing the HUM Driver-to-Driver Referral Program.

Why we built this

HUM isn’t for every driver. And that’s intentional.

HUM works best for drivers who are already thinking and operating differently.

The drivers who succeed on HUM aren’t waiting to build repeat business someday. They’re already doing it. They’re turning one-off rides into regular clients, scheduling future trips, and using HUM as the infrastructure behind their own driving business.

Those drivers naturally talk to other drivers about what they’re doing. That’s already happening. This program exists to reward drivers for spreading the word about HUM in a way that’s honest, practical, and grounded in real experience.

How it works

If you’re an active HUM driver in good standing, you can refer another driver to the platform using your unique referral code.

When that driver:

  1. Signs up using your referral code, and
  2. Activates by purchasing a qualifying HUM plan

You earn $25 per successful referral.

There’s no cap on how many drivers you can refer or how much you can get paid out.

A practical example

For most drivers on Sedan or XL plans, it only takes three successful referrals to effectively cover the cost of a monthly subscription.

For drivers who are already talking to others about how they work and earn, referrals can become a meaningful added benefit and an additional source of income over time.

What this is (and what it isn’t)

This isn't a pyramid.
It’s not MLM.
And it’s not meant to replace driving.

It’s a straightforward driver-to-driver incentive:

  • You share HUM because it actually fits someone’s goals
  • They sign up and activate
  • You get paid for the referral

That's it!

We’re intentionally keeping the program straightforward in its first version. Over time, we expect to expand and improve it based on real driver behavior and feedback, not marketing theory.

A quick note on eligibility

To reduce confusion and support issues:

  • Certain plans and use cases are excluded (Flex, NEMT)
  • Referral codes must be used during signup
  • Payouts only apply to qualifying activations

HUM grows best when it grows locally and intentionally.

Every driver who joins because another driver took the time to explain how HUM actually works strengthens the network. It leads to better expectations, better usage, and better outcomes for everyone involved.
